Designing a Logo?

Designing a new logo?

Easy right? Think again.

When it comes to crafting a visual identity there’s more to it than just putting your name inside a square and saying ‘that’s good enough’

Your logo is often the first impression you present to the world so make sure it counts.

Because we live in an increasingly visual society, overcrowded with brands, signage and messages - it’s important you take time to work through exactly what image you want to present.

Firstly - be unique, but not so clever that you have to guess what your business is about. Stand out from your competitors by all means but remember ‘clarity is king’.

Next, while your logo is an image it’s also your way of formally introducing your business - keep that in mind.

Get inspiration from researching other brands - but ensure originality is your focus and tracks back to your core business attributes.

Does your logo need to illustrate part of the business history? Should it be contemporary or quirky?

Does it stay true to a brand's overarching personality. Keep it easy and flexible ensure where

where logos will appear on multiple devices and across social media, you design something that transcends paper and looks equally good on different backgrounds and differing purposes.

And finally - don’t expect instant success.

It's important to be patient and not rush to make changes with your design just because you haven't gotten the reception you initially expected.

If you build it - then hopefully (given some hard work) - they will come.
